Privacy Policy

WithFriends helps families connect and plan time together. This page describes how we handle information when you use our mobile apps and related services. If anything here conflicts with an in-app notice, follow the in-app text for that specific feature.

Information we collect

We collect information you provide when you create an account and build your household profile, for example:

• Account details (such as name, phone number for sign-in, and optional email).
• Household information you choose to add (such as a display name, city or area, and optional bio).
• Child profiles you add (such as first name, age or birthdate as you provide it, optional school or daycare, optional interests, and optional profile photo).
• Content you create in the app (such as playdate plans, invites, and messages between connected families).
• Device notification preferences if you enable push notifications.

How we use your information

We use this information to run WithFriends: authenticate you, show you relevant screens, connect households, send invites and updates you request, and improve reliability and safety of the service.

Location

The app may ask for your device location to help suggest your home area when you sign up. We don't show your full street address to other users. Discovery and profiles use coarse information (for example city-level) as described in the product.

Photos and media

You may upload profile images for adults or children. Child photos are treated carefully: by default they are not shown in discovery unless you choose otherwise. We use the photo you select only for display in the app as you configure it.

Notifications

If you turn on push notifications, we send alerts related to your account and activity (for example playdate updates). You can change notification settings in the app.

Children and families

WithFriends is built for families. We aim to collect only what is needed for the product, limit what other users can see (especially for children), and use conservative defaults for anything sensitive such as child profile photos.

Sharing with other users

Some information is visible to other households only in the ways the app describes (for example before you connect versus after). Email addresses and phone numbers are not used as public profile fields for discovery.

Retention and deletion

We keep information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. You can remove or update much of your information inside the app. To ask about deletion of your account or data, use the contact path below.

For questions about this policy or your personal information, open the WithFriends app and go to Profile → Support (or the closest equivalent in your app version).

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date below.
